I miss the days when DA had both DD and DS... can't blame the staff very much, there aren't too many good skins being churned out every day... but how about a weekly skin feature? is DA 'where art meets application'?

I've not been around deviantART that long, so I don't "remember the days" but it sounds like a good idea.

The Daily Deviations of late have included skin designs, I've not noticed them too much before: perhaps someone up there is pushing for the same thing.

hmm hmm... but back in the day there used to be so many skins... DA used to be primarily a skinner community... then they came up with this art stuff... :tsk:

I think it's a good idea. you make a good point with the "when art meets application" doesnt apply to 90% of the art here. I think it's a good idea and gets skinners recognized more!

Well instead of DS we just have skin DDs. Heh. But weekly/monthly features would be good.

Pfft, thats why I am supporting Customize more and more now, I won't submit anymore artwork to deviantART, so if skins are the only thing I'm gonna churn out, I might as well submit them to a community that specializes in skins and themes. Thats not to say I won't submit to deviantART, but I feel more at home with my own kind.

But I would have to agree with you with the discussion at hand, I would love to see the daily skin feature re-implemented, I mean, that is why this whole bloody place started anyway.

I absolutely go with you in regard to Customize.org. The atmosphere there is a lot better than DeviantART when it comes to skins and themes. But I expect some improvement in DA with the introduction of Skindeep - Good job, abe. And with this talk about Daily Skin it feels even better. A weekly feature would be nice.
