deviantART: abe-x's Journal: Not-so-devious Journal Entry

Yep, updates to this journal and few and far apart, all right. Nothing much happened thus far at S&T, or with me. However, I've now completed my 2nd year of college, and have started interning at an ad agency (Lowe). I hope to learn something here, and perhaps get some work done as well.
In other news, I've just got a spanking new Schecter C-1 Artist Series Limited Edition Electric Guitar (photos soon), and a PS2 (yeah, I'm old-skool...).
S&T hasn't been seeing much action of late, as I mentioned, but we've been getting tons of applications like program launchers and widgets in the galleries. I think it's time we got a User-Submitted Software section. Whatsay?

Transbar - control the opacity of your taskbar (xp/2000)

RocketDock - the best free dock for your PC

Launchy - a little tool to launch any file/folder on your computer, which can be called up with a hotkey. Lots of cool shortcuts too!

I think user submitted programs might be a neat idea, it could get abused really easily though.

I think before we get a user submitted software gallery, we should get the screenshots / ms style category sorted first.

I'm seeing more and more screenshots submitted into VISUAL STYLES every day.

I think people are either a: stupid and don't understand what a visual style is.. or b: can't read the damn descriptions.

I'm all in favor of a user submitted software section, but we need to rename Visual Styles to something that doesn't sound like a screenshot first.
